Puerto Rican Power

The tropical Puerto Rican Power Orchestra were formed by bassist Jesús Castro in the early '70s, soon granting their leadership to trumpet player Luisito Ayala. In 1983, singer Tito Rojas joined the ensemble, beginning a new phase in Puerto Rican salsa history. After reaching an agreement with producers, Puerto Rican Power recorded Canta Tito Rojas, Con Más Poder, and the successful Con Todo el Poder, the latter released in 1992 and featuring the hit single "A Donde Iras." In the late '90s, Ayala's orchestra signed with the J&N label, issuing Men in Salsa in 1999.
