Old Man Markley

Los Angeles-based Old Man Markley are hardly a typical band, delivering a wild, down-home sound that is equal parts bluegrass and pure punk, recognizing the speed and energy in both genres, and with their kitchen-sink approach to material (traditional fare, classic pop and rock songs, original songs, anything that fits into the blender) and unbridled enthusiasm, they quickly made a name for delivering unforgettable live shows. Formed in 2007 and comprised of John Carey (guitar and vocals), Annie DeTemple (autoharp and vocals), Jeff Fuller (drums), Joey Garibaldi (bass and vocals), Ryan Markley (washboard), John Rosen (banjo), and Katie Weed (fiddle), Old Man Markley introduced their 21st century punk jug and string band style on the 2010 EP For Better for Worse, following it with another EP, 2011's Party Shack, then released a full-length debut, Guts n' Teeth, that same year. Another EP, Blood on My Hands, hit in 2012, before a second full-length album, Down Side Up, finally appeared early in 2013.
