Forester

Los Angeles duo Forester blend electronic production with acoustic instrumentation, yearning vocals, and a spacious sound that evokes the great outdoors. Longtime friends David Parris and Xander Carlson made an immediate impact with "Spark," their soothing debut single. They were quickly picked up by Sony imprint Palm Tree Records, which released their next two albums, 2020's Range of Light and 2022's Watercolor. Along the way, Forester expanded into a live act, warming up for Kygo at a series of high-profile concerts in North America and Europe. Their fourth album, Moonlight, was released in 2024 and featured guests like Wye Oak and Jai Wolf. Friends since their teenage years, Parris and Carlson grew up playing DJ sets at dances and local warehouses. By the time they launched Forester in 2019, they'd already been collaborating for nearly a decade. Melding influences like Avicii and Bon Iver into their own strain of warm electro-organic pop, they issued their first single, "Spark," in 2019. With its throbbing electronic pulse, acoustic guitars, and dreamy vocals, it became an immediate streaming success hyped by promoter Trap Nation. The song anchored the pair's debut album, Kerosene, later that year and helped them ink a deal with Kygo's Palm Tree imprint. Recorded during the pandemic in a cabin at the foot of the Sierra Nevadas, the band's nature-themed follow-up, Range of Light, appeared in 2020. Over the next year, Forester adapted their songs to the stage and made their live debut opening for Kygo at Colorado's Red Rocks Amphitheatre. They joined the Norwegian producer for further dates in Oslo and Mexico City in 2022 while promoting their third LP, Watercolor. A series of singles released in 2023, including the standout "All I Need," paved the way for Forester's fourth collection, Moonlight, released in early 2024.
