Currituck Co.
Aden guitarist Kevin Barker's solo project, Currituck County, named after a county in North Carolina's Outer Banks region, formed in 2000 in Washington D.C.. The one-man band weaved country, folk, and pop sensibilities together, utilizing guitar, banjo, and melodica. In 2001, Barker moved to New York City with Aden's Jeff Gramm. 2002's Unpacking My Library CD introduced the world to Currituck County On the album, Barker impressed many with his deadpan vocals and warm, finger-picking guitar. The follow-up, Ghost Man on First blended experimental tones with the folky backdrop, continuing the project with an elegant artistic vision and an interesting choice of cover songs.
