Budjerah

Soul-tipped Australian pop singer-songwriter Budjerah was born Budjerah Slabb in 2002 in Fingal Head, New South Wales, Australia and is from the Bundjalung nation, a large Aboriginal nation. He first ventured into the music industry as a burgeoning 16-year-old signer via an audition on The Voice (Australian season 8) in 2019 and uploaded his first song, "River Dry" that same year. Teaming up with trusted collaborator Matt Corby for his debut single "Missing You," which arrived in October 2020, his debut self-titled EP was released the following year and was also produced by Matt Corby. 2021 proved a breakthrough year for Budjerah, who was nominated for the New Artist of the Year award at Australia's National Indigenous Music Awards and who in May 2021, released the Budjerah (Live At Rainbow Valley) EP. Recorded at Matt Corby's studio, the release features a live version of the EP tracks, while it's also boosted by the appearance of artists Ngaiire, Ainslie Wills, JK-47 and Stevan. In 2021, Budjerah teamed up with Sydney dance trio Pnau for the dance-pop single "Stranger Love."
