Titi Robin
Thierry, aka Titi Robin, is considered one of the finest guitarists of his generation. With him, there's no need to show off, and he demonstrates the quality and inventiveness of his playing with every album. While his musical roots lie in flamenco and gypsy swing, Titi Robin has taken on other styles, handling the oud and bouzouki with ease. From the Celtic album An Henchou Treuz (1990), he moved on to Arabic music in Le Regard Nu and to the jazz of Kali Gadji and Un Ciel de Cuivre in 2000. The self-taught guitarist then turns to India with Rakhî, visits the Orient in Kali Sultana, then tours the world where he is much appreciated. This unlabeled Frenchman, who has also written some film scores(Olé, La Mentale), is one of the most worthy representatives of world music. In 20011, the boxed set Les Rives brought together his Moroccan, Turkish and Indian recordings. In 2015, Titi Robin collaborated with Moroccan Mehdi Nassouli on the album Taziri.
