Seven years after the third volume in his ballad compilation series, German rock guitarist Axel Rudi Pell released a follow-up that gathers ballads from his previous four studio albums (from 2006's Mystica to 2010's The Crest), including covers of Kiss' "Love Gun" and Phil Collins' "In the Air Tonight." The album includes three new songs: a cover of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah," featuring a children's choir, a cover of Ronnie James Dio's "Holy Diver," rearranged as a piano ballad, and a new composition called "Where the Wild Waters Flow." The Ballads IV debuted at number 29 in the German album charts.
