The 45th project from prolific rap duo $uicideboy$, 2020's Stop Staring at the Shadows provides fans with staples of their signature styles and venture into new territory. Scored as always by $crim's ominous production, the project sees Ruby and $crim continue to modernize the sonics of the South, blending aspects of horrorcore and trap in the formula that brought them their fame. Despite the hasty 24-minute runtime, the duo still find space for experimentation, slotting the sentimental "I Wanna Be Romanticized" and "…And to Those I Love, Thanks for Sticking Around" amid the more anthemic cuts.
