Several King's X live discs have been issued over the years (2004's Live All Over the Place, etc.), but none combined a career-encompassing set list from both a musical and visual standpoint. Released in 2010, Live Love in London finally changed all that. Recorded live on January 22, 2009, at the Electric Ballroom in Camden, London, Live Love in London is available in several different formats, but the one that many die-hard King's X fans will want is the deluxe three-disc version, comprised of two audio discs and one DVD. All the expected King's X classics are featured, including "Black Flag," "Summerland," "Over My Head," "Dogman," and "It's Love," as well as such fan favorites as "Goldilox" and a pair of set-closing jam fests, "Visions" and "Moanjam." And more recent tracks are showcased as well, including "Groove Machine," "Alright," and "Pray," all of which fit in well with the classics. Unlike the majority of other hard rock/heavy metal bands that arrived during the late '80s, King's X refused to be tied down to a single subgenre (prog metal, thrash metal, hair metal, etc.). As a result, the track listing of Live Love in London serves as a celebration of the group's entire career. And for those who are wondering, the set list on the double CD is completely replicated on the single DVD.
