Mexico's rockeros El Tri make a joyful millennial noise on FIN DE SIGLO. Take Zeppelin, The Beatles, the over-the-top rasp and and occasional hilarity of Alex and Chela Lora's vocals and a solid Leftist conscience, and you have the essence of this fun-loving bunch. Blues-rock guitar riffs lay the foundation for themes ranging from street children on "El Futuro Del Mundo" and criminality on "Gandalla" to the droll wit of "Casate O Muerete" ("If you wish to know your defects, just get married...") and the succinctly titled, "El Viagra." Riveting blues harp solos round out this assortment of floor-thumping Mexi-rock bombs. Earplugs tempting, but not suggested.
