Carla Morrison is an artist that doesn't shy away from revealing the innermost spaces of her being. Her personal journey through the trials of life and a loss of confidence in her songwriting has culminated in El Renacimiento, a work that is paradoxically both her most pop-oriented and her most personal offering to date. First single "Ansiedad," a reflective song from the point of view of a person in the middle of a crisis of faith, sets the tone for the project. It starts from a dark space of fear and apprehension and then opens up to become soothing and motivational. The sincere and heartfelt inner exploration of struggle and healing heard there and on album opener "Hacia Dentro" is unique in Latin pop music. El Renacimiento is a timely, all-encompassing embrace for those who have made it through years of anxieties and fears, and a personal example of searching for and finding the light in the darkness.
