Almost exactly a year after she finished the final season of American Idol as runner-up, La'Porsha Renae releases her debut album, Already All Ready, through the Motown label. Like the debut albums of fellow Idol breakouts Jennifer Hudson and Fantasia, Already All Ready features a mix of vintage pop-soul and contemporary R&B sounds. Renae is in confident form, singing about the ups and downs of love, whether belting on "Good Woman" or yearning on the more pop-oriented "Stay." R&B veterans such as Harmony Samuels, Courtney Harrell, and Ne-Yo contribute to the songwriting.
