Hoewel het duo LMFAO al de trotse bezitter was van een Europop synthesizergeluid en onmiskenbare riffs ver vóór hun hit met David Guetta "Gettin' Over You", heeft de gastrol op een wereldwijde tophit die lekker op nummer 1 bleef hangen in de Franse en Britse hitlijsten hen zeker geen windeieren gelegd. Hun tweede album Sorry for Party Rocking komt precies op tijd en bevat de juiste mix van energie en humor, én een verrassende hoeveelheid oprechtheid. Toegegeven, humor speelt de hoofdrol – zie intro "Rock the Beat II" en het titelnummer – maar daarnaast hebben ze ook aandacht voor gescandeer in nachtclubs en het goede leven in nummers als "Champagne Showers", "Best Night" en "All Night Long". Je zou kunnen zeggen dat de hitlijstgerichte popmuziek van rond de tweede helft van het millennium zelden beter is dan hier bij LMFAO.
