Dit is de échte Take That comeback, die ene waarin Robbie Williams terugkeert. De band opteert om de coole club en cocktail inslag van zijn recentelijke werk te volgen. Het is natuurlijk de juiste keuze. Take That zat vast aan de eigen doorsneematigheid. Hoe plezierig dat ingeslagen pad ook was, het moest ervan komen dat het commercieel gezien minder op zou gaan leveren. De verassing zit hem in hoe effectief de ver-Williams-isering van Take That is, op Progress. De rest van de band volgt hem makjes, maar de nadruk ligt niet op de samenzang, maar op de groove en de gelaagdheid. Ballads worden verschoven naar de achterkant voor slimme Gorillaz nabootsingen of stampende glam vol met synthesizers. Het is de hipste en beste muziek die Take That ooit heeft gemaakt.
