Lady Antebellum hield huis op de 2011 Grammys, door vijf van zes Grammys te winnen waarvoor ze genomineerd waren. Daarmee bevestigden ze hun status als cross-platform mainstream supersterren. Own the Night – het vervolg uit 2011 op hun doorbraakalbum Need You Now (2010) – heeft het geluid van een band die zeer content is met zijn positie als middle of the road muziekact. Alle overgebleven elementen van country, of het nu twang of 2-steps waren, zijn vervangen met een softrock geluid dat ontworpen is om in de achtergrond te sijpelen waar het maar gespeeld wordt. Deze nummers over gewonnen en verloren liefde zijn dromerig en mooi, en behouden veel van het gevoel van “Need You Now.” Own the Night is dus stemmingsmuziek die niet beoogt amoureus te zijn, maar geruststellend.
