C+C Music Factory's first album was an enormous hit, filled with infectious bubblegum dance-pop singles. It was music of the moment, and by the time Anything Goes! was released, the moment had passed. Clivillés & Cole's production was just as skilled, and several of the hooks on Anything Goes! were strong, but the music was too dated to fit into the pop landscape of the mid-'90s.

C+C Music Factory's first album was an enormous hit, filled with infectious bubblegum dance-pop singles. It was music of the moment, and by the time Anything Goes! was released, the moment had passed. Clivillés & Cole's production was just as skilled, and several of the hooks on Anything Goes! were strong, but the music was too dated to fit into the pop landscape of the mid-'90s.
