Bill Baxter

Formed at the Lycée Lakanal in Sceaux in 1977, the Bill Baxter group (Bô Geste, Lewis Primo, Joe Cool, Chris and Gaston Béton) scored a big hit on the radio with "Petit avec des grandes oreilles" (1982) and their humorous yéyé rock. A mini-album(Vive la Vie, in 1983, with "Vichy fraise") and a tour later, the remaining trio followed up with the musical Embrasse-moi idiot! adapted from the Billy Wilder film, which gave Bill Baxter his biggest hit (n°7 in 1986). A duet with English reggae singer Tippa Irie ("Bienvenue à Paris") followed in 1987, followed by the show El Secundo. Bill Baxter turned to music for the audiovisual industry with the titles "Reviens JPP, reviens" and "La Combine à Nanard" for Canal+, the theme music for the TV series Zorro (1990), the soundtrack for the film Les Braqueuses (1994), and, for TV, Parents à mi-temps (1995) and Petit Potam (2001).
