Lamplight
Lamplight is the outlet for the alternately hopeful, anxious, and daydreamy meditations of ethereal-voiced alternative singer/songwriter Ian Hatcher-Williams. The Virginian's first album, 2024's Lamplight, merged folk-rock, alt-country, soft rock, and Beatlesque psychedelic inspirations into its reflections on life and uncertainty.
Raised in a New Age community in Virgina, Ian Hatcher-Williams married a childhood friend, played in several bands, and studied design and programming before working in design tech in New York. The demands of that career and city life took their toll, and, burned out, he and his wife returned to Virginia. While still in Brooklyn, he met Lightning Bug's Kevin Copeland, who had encouraged him to reintroduce music into his life. As Lamplight, Hatcher-Williams explored topics like identity, belonging, and personal growth on his first album, which was produced by Copeland and created during this transition. The intimate Lamplight LP appeared on Western Vinyl in March 2024.
