Kat

The self-proclaimed ‘Great Kat’ began her musical career as a classically trained violinist, graduating from the Juilliard School of Music in New York. After six years of solid performance on the instrument, she switched to the guitar and began experimenting with a fusion of classical and rock music. Adopting a high-speed technique, she concentrated on short instrumentals. Worship Me Or Die was poorly received, despite Kat’s proclamations that it represented ‘the first real revolutionary music since Beethoven’. Undaunted, she released Beethoven On Speed, which marked a considerable improvement in both musical and production terms. Promoting herself as a grotesque parody of a ‘wild woman of rock’, this contrivance fell flat with European audiences and, despite her potential to produce an innovative metal/classical crossover album, little has been heard from the artist since.
