Hexa
HEXA is an experimental collaboration between Australian composer Lawrence English and Xiu Xiu leader Jamie Stewart. The two first met in 2009, and they kept in touch over the years, exchanging ideas and sporadically meeting up in person. They first performed as HEXA in 2015, creating dark, atmospheric soundscapes for Between Two Worlds, an exhibition of David Lynch's artwork that took place at the Gallery of Modern Art in Brisbane, Australia. A limited cassette was issued on English's Room40 label after the exhibition wrapped up. The following year, Room40 released HEXA's Factory Photographs LP, and the Gallery of Modern Art scheduled an additional presentation of the duo's music and Lynch's photography for 2017.
