Arthur Moon

The project of Brooklyn-based singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Lora-Faye Åshuvud, Arthur Moon emerged in 2017 with Our Head, an EP of experimental art pop that blended approachable melodicism with unconventional song structures and a cerebral bent. Moon's adventurous 2019 full-length debut expanded on her eclectic approach, utilizing various electro-acoustic elements and a sort of collage aesthetic. Chaos! Chaos! Chaos!: Side A, the first of a two-part release, arrived two years later. A New York native, Åshuvud initially rose out of the folk and indie rock scenes before adopting the Arthur Moon moniker to convey her more exploratory composition style. Often fashioning her lyrical ideas from cut-up magazines and newspapers, she worked with collaborators Nick Lerman, Marty Fowler, Dave Palazola, Aviva Jaye, and Cale Hawkins to create the unusual pop framework of her first EP, Our Head, which arrived in March 2017. Over the next two years, Åshuvud continued to hone her approach, returning in August 2019 with her self-released Arthur Moon full-length debut. Led by its deeply textural title track, the eight-song Chaos! Chaos! Chaos!: Side A appeared in September 2021, representing the first half of a longer release.
