Spoon

Indierock-band Spoon wordt in 1993 opgericht in Austin, Texas. De bandnaam is een eerbetoon aan Duitse avantgartde-formatie Can die in 1972 een hit heeft met het nummer "Spoon". De groep debuteert in 1996 met het album Telephono. De doorbraak komt in 2007 met het album Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga, dat de top tien in de Amerikaanse albumlijsten haalt. In 2014 brengt Spoon het achtste album They Want My Soul uit.
