Dornik, soul sensation

He drums for Jessie Ware, collaborates with Disclosure, and is now moving centre-stage for himself. Stardom looks good on Dornik Leigh – better known as Dornik – because his talent, in our view, has him vying for the position of soul sensation, 2015. His debut album, titled simply Dornik, is more reserved, yet also somehow more exuberant, than the work of most his contemporaries. The 24 year old Londoner puts himself in the ring with the heavyweights. His falsetto reminded Qobuz of all-time greats Frank Ocean, Miguel, Prince, and Michael Jackson; his producer Russell Elevado has also worked with D’Angelo and The Weeknd, and duly, the production is steamy and vintage-sounding in equal measure. Dornik's first opus betrays an array of illustrious influences, but also offers genuine personality – it is no mere follower… Dornik has the talent, the sensuality, and the material to delight soul aficionados all over the world.
