Guns and LCD, back with a vengeance!

2016 has hardly begun and we are already gearing up for two major comebacks in two genres that could not be further apart: Guns N'Roses and LCD Soundsystem ! Revealed first by the New York Times , the resurrection of the two American groups will take place at the next edition of the Coachella festival in Indio, California between from 15-24 April. Although these two comebacks have not been officially confirmed, the sources at the New York newspaper seem reliable ... With LCD Soundsystem, we are only half-surprised, as during the live goodbye concert in April 2011 at Madison Square Garden, James Murphy stated that a future revival would not be impossible, should one morning he feel the need to come back. Master of ambiance and god to his fans, the brain of LCD Soundsystem delivered a new special Christmas song on December 24, 2015, the very melancholic Will Break Your Christmas Heart… For metallers Guns N'Roses , the case is more surprising because this time it concerns Axl Rose and Slash, who have continued to insult eachother in interviews for a number of years now. If the burial of the hatchet is confirmed between the singer and the guitarist behind one of the most popular rock bands of the 90s, we may be in for quite an event. To be continued.

When Aretha made Obama cry…

An invitée at the Kennedy Center in Washington for a great evening of celebration in the name of songwriter Carole King who was honored for her body of work and remarkable career, Aretha Franklin launched herself into a simply stunning rendition of (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman . Present in the audience, President Barack Obama was moved to a single tear. As for Carole King - who wrote this song back in 1967 - she would not believe her eyes to see her old friend, Aretha , deliver such a moving performance.

The Specials: Mourning

At 62, John Bradbury left this world on December 28, 2015. He will remain as the great drummer for Specials, joining them in 1979 in Coventry, and replacing Silverton Hutchinson in the process. Some of the big hits include the likes of Too Much Too Young , and A Message To You, Rudy , a beautiful cover of the original written by Dandy Livingstone. After the success of the single Ghost Town , Terry Hall, Lynval Golding and Neville Staple had gone on to form Fun Boy Three, while John Bradbury and Jerry Dammers and transformed Specials into Special AKA, famous for the charismatic song (Free) Nelson Mandela . In 2008, Bradbury was part of the reformation of Specials, retaining his position as drummer until his death.
