Hot Since 82’s new album Recovery is a complex catalogue of intricately produced dance and electronic tracks. This is the third LP from the Leeds born DJ/Producer, and arguably his most poignant with past works lacking the emotional coherence that this new record encapsulates so beautifully. Nightfall kicks us off with a smooth melancholic dance track with Temple on vocals. This relatively simple track excels in its expression of raw wistful emotion. The various drones lingering in the soundscapes add to the sombre ensemble. Listen out for the beautiful vocal motif that arises roughly halfway through the track. This delightful melody coupled with a gradually low passing synth pad makes for ethereal listening.

All in all, Recovery is a diverse LP offering a broad spectrum of sounds.
