Tiera Kennedy

Navigating the intersection where country, pop, and R&B meet, Tiera Kennedy specializes in bright, open-hearted tunes that demonstrate the nuance in her cheerful delivery. Whether it's the romantic "Found It in You," the laid-back party tune "Alabama Nights," or the clever "Jesus, My Mama, My Therapist" -- three singles that helped her cultivate an audience in 2022 and 2023 -- the songs that initially brought Kennedy attention all were lithe, melodic, and smooth, sounding equally at home in country or pop contexts. Her mass appeal was underscored by her role as the host of The Tiera Show, a radio program on Apple Music Country that aired in the early 2020s. A native of Birmingham, Alabama, Tiera Kennedy began playing music as a child, learning how to play guitar by watching online videos. After building a following around Birmingham, she started making sojourns to Nashville, working her way to opening for such country veterans as Rodney Atkins and the Charlie Daniels Band. Inking a publishing deal with Songs & Daughters, Kennedy released a pair of indie singles -- "Be Kind" and an acoustic version of "Found It in You" -- in 2020, a year that also saw her landing her Apple Music Radio Show. Kennedy signed a record deal with Big Machine in 2021. The label quickly released Tiera, an EP featuring "Found It in You," a romantic tune dedicated to her husband Kamren Kennedy. "Gentleman" and "Alabama Nights" helped her build an audience in 2022; by the end of the year, she'd released a pair of holiday singles, "Blue Christmas" and "I'll Be Home for Christmas." In July 2023, Kennedy released "Jesus, My Mama, My Therapist," a single that teased the imminent release of her full-length album debut.
