the Stingrays
Hailing from San Clemente, CA, the modern-day surf outfit the Stingrays are comprised of high school-aged bandmembers. The group has played shows ranging from the U.S. Open Surf Championship to the 2000 Vans Warped Tour, and opening up shows for such renowned artists as the Beach Boys, Dick Dale, and Eddie Money. The band has issued a lone album, 2000's Don't Fear the Reverb, which featured a splendid surf-overhaul of the Blue Öyster Cult heavy metal classic "Don't Fear the Reaper."
