Musee Mecanique
Named after a seaside museum in San Francisco, Musée Mécanique mixes pianos, guitars, synthesizers, and vintage instruments into a unique chamber pop sound. Founding members Micah Rabwin and Sean Ogilvie were raised in California, where they drew influence from the museum's vintage appeal. Adopting the name Musée Mécanique, the duo began making music that paid homage to the same era evoked by the museum, which housed antique arcade games and novelties salvaged from an old San Francisco amusement park. The two then relocated to Portland, where they welcomed new members into the band's fold and began composing songs in earnest. Released in 2008, Hold This Ghost marked Musée Mécanique's full-length debut.
