Mojinos Escozios
Mojinos Escozios were formed by five local musicians after participating in a music contest in Barcelona, making their live debut on December 1, 1994. The group's particular style, combining rock with lyrics based on humorous situations, became known all over Spain soon after. In May 1996, Mojinos Escozios made their debut album, achieving top-selling status after issuing Demasiao Perro Pa Trabajá: Demasiao Carvo Pal Rocanró, having the opportunity to play along with Napalm Death and Manowar during the Barbarian Rock Festival. After signing to Dro East West, En un Cortijo Grande... El Que Es Tonto Se Muere de Hambre was released in 2000, followed by Las Margaritas Son Flores del Campo, produced by Esteban Coll, in 2001. In 2002 they recorded their fifth album, Más de 8 Milliones de Discos Vendidos, accompanied by a big band, and appeared in a movie that combined their customary humor with their hard-rock music.
The following year they created a rock opera parody of talent contest American Idol entitled Ópera Rock Triunfo. After the success of their sixth album, Mojinos Escozíos released Semos Unos Monstruos (2004) and Con Cuernos y a lo Loco (2005), before the compilation Diez Anos Escozíos appeared in 2006. Their hard work ethic continued into 2008, when they released their eighth record in as many years, Pa Pito el Mio, alongside extensive touring. Although their ninth album, Los Novios que las Madres Nunca Quisieron, followed this trend and came a year later, their tenth release didn't arrive until 2011. The collaborative record Mená Chatruá combined the group's most popular tracks and re-recorded them with a host of musicians such as José Manuel Casany and Ariel Rot.
