Lil' Pete

Rapper Lil' Pete was born Rodriguez Jackson in San Francisco. After relocating to Atlanta, he performed under the name Peter the Disciple before shortening it to Lil Pete when he started getting attention as an MC. He was first widely noticed for collaborations with Pastor Troy, who featured Pete on several tracks including a verse alongside Juvenile on his 2004 hit "Nice Change." He also popped up on two albums under the collective banner D.S.G.B. or Down South Georgia Boyz, featuring himself, Pastor Troy, Pinhead, and Blackout. These spotlights on Lil Pete's rhyme skills led to more high-profile features, including work with Southern rap icons like David Banner and Bone Crusher. Along with his collaborative works, Pete offered up solo material in the form of mixtapes like O.G. Status and more fully realized albums like 2016's Surviving the Drought.
