King Melrose
Known by his stage name of King Melrose, Sébastien Côté, born in Joliette, Canada, began his musical apprenticeship as a child on the piano, just as he developed a passion for soul music. He began his career performing in bars, then began competing in music competitions in 2010. He was a finalist in the Festiblues d'Ahuntsic competition and won the Prix du Public at the Festival International de la Chanson de Granby. He then met singer Grégory Charles, whose manager invited Sébastien Côté to join the cast of the film Les Boys in 2013. That same year, the singer-turned-actor recorded his eponymous debut album. He promoted it with the single "Sauve-moi" in 2014. Bleu, his second album, was unveiled the following year. It marks his accession to success with three #1 hits in Canada: "Tentation", "Ça se danse" and "Ne me laisse pas tomber". It would be another four years before the aptly named Le Troi3ème Album was released in 2019. In 2022, King Melrose returns with a new single, "Fleur de cactus", produced by Ricky Paquette.
