Émile Proulx-Cloutier
Born February 4, 1983, in Montreal, Canada, Émile Proulx-Cloutier is a Quebec actor, composer, director and pop singer. At the age of 10, he played the role of Olivier in the film Mathusalem. He went on to star in the TV series Deux Frères in 1999, and in the TV series Mon Meilleur Ennemi in 2001. He then moved behind the camera to direct short films, including Papa, which won him a Jutra Award in 2005. In 2006, after studying at the Conservatoire de Montréal, he was offered the role of Damien Paquin in the series Les Hauts Et les Bas de Sophie Paquin. In 2008, Simon Lavoie gave him the lead role in the film Le Déserteur. He also co-directed the documentary Les Petits Géants, for which he won the Prix Gémeaux for best documentary in 2010. He released his debut album Aimer les Monstres in 2013. Émile Proulx-Cloutier toured with it from 2013 to 2016. In 2015, he co-directed the documentary Le Plancher des Vaches (Choisir la Terre) with Anaïs Barbeau-Lavalette, and in May 2016, they co-directed the play Pôle Sud, Documentaires Scéniques. In 2016, they were both awarded the National Assembly medal by Françoise David, for their social commitment and contribution to Quebec culture. In 2017, he released his second album Marée haute and a live opus entitled Sur Scène Au Théâtre Outremont . In 2021, he takes part in the TVA series Les Moments Parfaits , playing the character Louis.
