Charles Spearin

Multi-instrumentalist Charles Spearin is best known for his work with the post-rock/experimental band Do May Say Think and his adjunct membership in Canadian musical collective Broken Social Scene. The Toronto-based artist is also involved with the Do May Say Think offshoot, K.C. Accidental, and Canadian indie rock supergroup Valley of the Giants, which also includes members of Godspeed You Black Emperor. In each project Spearin brought a willingness to experiment and an ear for unusual sonic textures. His 2009 album, THE HAPPINESS PROJECT, was a conceptual piece wherein recorded speech was used to create compositions that mirrored the spoken-word performances’ inherent natural melodies.
