土岐麻子

Born on March 22, 1976, in Tokyo, Japan, Asako Toki is a Japanese singer-songwriter and lyricist. Her musical journey kicked off with the release of her debut solo album Standards in February, 2004, followed by her original album Debut in September, 2004, though neither found chart success. She subsequently released cover albums Standards on the Sofa and Standards Gift on November 10, 2004, and November 9, 2005, respectively. Transitioning to Avex's Rhythm Zone label after the moderate success of her cover album Weekend Shuffle in December 2006, Toki found greater commercial traction with her album Talkin, unveiled in November 2007, peaking at number 79. Her third original album, Touch, released in January 2009, marked her first entry into the top 50 on the Oricon Weekly Albums Chart, reaching number 33. Through the early 2010s, Toki continued to release blend of original and cover albums, including Ranhansha Girl in 2010, Cassetteful Days in October 2012, as well as Heartbreakin' in June 2013, and Bittersweet in July 2015, both reaching number 23 and 28, respectively. In January 2017, Toki released Pink, followed by Safari and Passion Blue in May 2018 and October 2019, collectively known as the "City Pop Trilogy", all of which secured spots within the top 40. July 2020 marked the announcement of Toki's digital single "Home", serving as the opening theme for the second season of anime series Fruits Basket. Her ninth cover album, Home Town, hit the shelves in February 2021, preceded by the singles "Ai", "Jubilee", and "Kaede", with 10th original album Twilight following in November. She returned in 2024 with Peppermint Time 〜20th Anniversary Best〜, which landed at number 27.
