The VizzTone Label Group spreads its Blues umbrella to embrace a wide array of styles and artists from around the globe. The founders—guitarist Bob Margolin and harmonica player Richard "Rosy" Rosenblatt—both got their start in the explosive Boston blues scene of the 1970s before going their separate ways and establishing their careers over the next few decades. Margolin spent 7 years as the primary guitarist in the iconic Muddy Waters Blues Band, recorded many of his own records on labels including Alligator, Telarc and Blind Pig, produced records for major blues artists, and established himself as a respected writer and teacher; Rosenblatt established himself as a performing/recording musician, engineer and producer while in 1985 starting Tone-Cool Records, which launched the careers of Susan Tedeschi, North Mississippi Allstars and others during its 20-year run. In 2007 Margolin and Rosenblatt partnered with magazine publisher Chip Eagle to launch the VizzTone label group to release Bob’s newest record along with DVD projects featuring Pinetop Perkins and Son Seals, and albums from newcomers Dave Gross and Gina Sicilia with an artist-friendly co-operative business structure. In keeping with the spirit of working with "rising stars, seasoned veterans, and badass debuts," VizzTone has released more than 150 albums to date and is now working with some of the most exciting artists in the Blues and beyond.
