The theory goes that an artist's creative peak is between the hours of midnight and four in the morning. The Paper Kites' lead singer and songwriter Sam Bentley put that theory to the test on their second album, aptly titled Twelvefour, by writing songs for this record only between those hours. In search of a more upbeat sound than that of 2013's States, the band enlisted the talents of producer Phil Ek (Band of Horses, Fleet Foxes).
