The Trammps had a few modest hits on Buddah: "Zing Went the Strings of My Heart," which featured Earl Young's seasoned bass voice on lead; "Penquin at the Big Apple"; and a disco version of the Dominoes' erotic "Sixty Minute Man."When their contract ended, Young, Ron Baker, and Norman Harris left to form Golden Fleece Records, the Trammps' new home. After a few singles on Golden Fleece, which were not as good as the stuff here, Buddah brought in hired gun, disco mix master Tom Moulton to redo the Trammps' singles and unreleased songs that resulted in The Legendary Zing Album. The best of the rest include "Hold Back the Night," "Scrub Board" (an instrumental), and "Pray All You Sinners."
