The 2003 debut album by Danish outfit The Fashion, ROCK ROCK KISS KISS COMBO, drew comparisons to Franz Ferdinand and Bloc Party for its spiky take on danceable post-punk revivalism. Their self-titled 2008 follow-up finds the Fashion pared down to a quartet and sporting a harder-edged sound that is no less poppy, as heard on the singalong hooks of “Solo Impala,” “Letters from an Ambulance,” and “Like Knives.” The post-punk revival bandwagon may have gone over the hill but The Fashion aren’t letting that slow their catchy, punchy rock.
