Ruído Rosa is Pato Fu's sixth album and also the best and most consistent work of the group. The moods and musical styles vary quite a lot on the album, but it still comes across as coherent and balanced. There is the strong rock song "Eu," the catchy and humorous hit "Menti pra você mas foi sem querer" (I Lied to You but I Didn't Want To) by Rubinho Troll, and the inventive and surprising "Tribunal de causas realmente pequenas" (Tribunal of Really Small Matters). "Que Fragilidade" has the typical vaudeville feel of many Os Mutantes songs. Speaking of Os Mutantes, the album brings a new version of "Ando meio-desligado," recorded by Os Mutantes in 1970. The electronic version of Ira's "Tolices" is the other cover of the album. "Sorria você está sendo filmado," sung by John, is simple, commercial Europop, but presented in an elegant way. "O Amor é anormal" is a romantic, radio-friendly guitar pop song. The calmer, more melancholic side of Pato Fu is represented here by the excellent electronic ballads "Ninguém" and "O vento levou." In general, the lyrics of the album consist of the kind of everyday philosophy that Pato Fu does best, but the more political "Deus" shows an inventive and humorous way of commenting on social injustice. The only weak track on the album is "Day After Day," which for some reason was given lyrics in English. But apart from that unhappy moment, Ruído Rosa is full of creativity, quality, and simply very nice pop/rock songs.
