The debut album for the moniker Monk Parker was birthed from the slow dissolution and rebranding of lo-fi noise band the Low Lows. Lead man Monk Parker (aka Parker Noon) transports that incarnation's reverb-soaked introspection to an alternative country-rock dream pop that haunts with aural texture and heartbreak on How the Spark Loves the Tinder. Not a bedroom recording but largely a shed recording, over 30 musicians lent a hand on a farm estate outside of Austin, Texas, including members of Polyphonic Spree and Okkervil River.
