Lançada em 1992, a coletânea Greatest Hits reúne as músicas do The Police que chegaram às paradas britânicas. Composta por 16 faixas, a compilação traz canções muito conhecidas, como “Roxanne”, “Every Breath You Take”, “Walking on the Moon” e “Every Little Thing She Dees Is Magic”, mas também reserva surpresas para os fãs, com “Synchronicity II”, “Bed's Too Big Without You” e “Tea in the Sahara”. Essa não é a primeira coletânea da banda de rock britânica (o grupo lançou Every Breath You Take: The Singles em 1986), mas definitivamente é a mais completa. Apesar de não ter feito o sucesso esperado nos EUA, a compilação passou 36 semanas na parada de álbuns do Reino Unido, e em 2022 ganhou uma reedição em vinil duplo para celebrar seu 30º aniversário.
