A combinação punk empolgante nos últimos anos, já o dissemos e repetimos: são eles. Os australianos liderados pela espetacular Amy Taylor estão gradualmente subindo os degraus da notoriedade com lives explosivos. Depois de dois EP’s e de um primeiro álbum em seu nome gravado em Inglaterra com Joey Walker de King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, que lhes permitiu ganhar o prémio de melhor álbum de rock aos prestigiados Arias, com « Comfort to Me » e a sua capa deformada. O nome nasceu do período de isolamento durante o qual Amy, Bryce Wilson (bateria), Dec Martens (guitarra) e Fergus Romer (baixo), à porta fechada numa casa em Melbourne, se debruçam todos os dias sobre o que se tornará, por consequência, títulos obscenos com uma Energia de garagem visceral.
A receita herdada de Cro-Mags ou Cosmic Psychos difere ligeiramente das saídas anteriores: seção rítmica repetitiva, palavras simples, cruas e em loop, guitarras barulhentas mais trabalhadas, títulos ultra-curtos. Diferença notória: produção mais cuidada. Mas o melhor ainda é deixar Amy falar sobre isso. Se eu tivesse que explicar como é esse disco, eu diria que é como assistir a um episódio de « The Nanny », exceto que o cenário é a Feira Automóvel Australiana, Fran está interessada em questões sociais, ela leu alguns livros, e o Sr. Sheffield bebe uma cerveja ao sol. É uma Mitsubishi Lancer que ultrapassa ligeiramente o limite de velocidade numa área escolar. É perceber como é bom usar calças de fato de treino na cama. É ter alguém para te preparar o jantar quando você está exausto.
