A banda de rock norueguesa Madrugada interrompeu as atividades após o falecimento do guitarrista Robert Burås em 2007. Mas em 2019, os outros três membros originais se reuniram para uma turnê em comemoração aos 20 anos do aclamado disco de estreia Industrial Silence (1999). Percebendo o apelo para uma volta aos estúdios, eles retomaram as atividades, o que resultou no álbum Chimes at Midnight (2022). Além da grande maioria de materiais novos, a banda também recuperou e rearranjou algumas canções que estavam um pouco esquecidas na discografia, como "The World Could Be Falling Down". O álbum retoma várias das características da Madrugada: atmosferas tristes e sombrias, letras de amor e melodias refinadas. O retorno da banda obteve bom resultado comercial, especialmente na Noruega.
