O Madredeus é um dos grupos portugueses mais importantes da história, tendo atingido muito sucesso em vários países do mundo e levando a música tradicional do país a direções inéditas e quase inimagináveis. A coletânea Antologia, lançada em 2000, reúne 18 das principais canções da banda. Como a inventividade é a maior marca do Madredeus e praticamente todas as canções do conjunto são surpreendentes, muitas facetas do grupo ficaram de fora da compilação, mas ainda assim ela é capaz de apresentar as características que conquistaram tantos fãs. As composições de Pedro Ayres Magalhães se unem à voz única de Teresa Salgueiro, que remete tanto ao fado, quanto aos cantos líricos, gerando uma atmosfera angelical e quase onírica.
