Craig Ross
Austin, Texas-based singer/songwriter Craig Ross first emerged as the frontman of the group Storyville before signing on to play guitar with Lisa Germano after the release of her album Geek the Girl. After writing songs with Shawn Colvin, Ross made his solo debut with the track "Casper," issued on the soundtrack to the 1995 film Kids. After accepting a day job in a wind chime factory, he retreated to his garage studio to begin cutting tracks for a full-length album; Dead Spy Report -- a collection of hallucinogenic pop songs written, performed and produced entirely by Ross -- appeared in 1996.
