The members of this Minneapolis quintet are restless spirits. Their music is a butterfly that alights in various climates. One minute they're off-kilter psych-pop, with strange reverberations that make you queasy like My Bloody Valentine (only not from guitar volumes); the next they're electronic dance-rock with guitars and organs that nibble, bubble, sputter, dance, and dart near faraway pop vocals, like the standout "Armoured Cars" -- think a drunken Radiohead covering Franz Ferdinand. Then they're blooping '80s synth pop ready to challenge Depeche Mode. Then they're Solid Gold Gang of Four (hmmm...). It's all very good, and it isn't like everyone else -- just hope they don't confuse the crowd so much they don’t catch on.
