Yamê
Emmanuel Sow was born in April 1993 in Cergy-Pontoise. He spent part of his childhood in Cameroon, where his father came from, a famous musician in the country, known as M'Backé Ngoup'Emanty. Emmanuel Sow learned the rudiments of the piano there, before returning to France following the sudden death of his mother. Settling in Paris, he pursued higher education, obtaining a master's degree in information and data research. At the same time, he tried his hand at rap, broadcasting his first tracks on TikTok. The growing interest he aroused prompted him to record his first mixtapes, Bantu Mixtape, Vol. 1 and 2, and then put together his first album, Agent 237 (named after Cameroon's country code), in 2021. It was followed by Elowi in 2023, whose name means "that which is not visible" in the Mbo language. The track "Bécane ", from this album, is certified gold and reaches number 33 in the French charts in 2024.
