Ricardo DaSilva II, better known as the subversive yet endearing Swedish rapper Swingfly, specializes in a heady fusion of hip-hop, pop, and rock much like his fellow reggae-pop-electronica-cobrastyle-happy countrymen Teddybears. Awesomeness: An Introduction to Swingfly, gathers most of its material from the artist’s 2009 eponymous release, though the seven songs from Swingfly have been re-tooled for this 2011 pseudo-compilation. Bolstered by the hit single “Me and My Drum,” Awesomeness offers up a full night of mayhem for the heathen hordes.
