Beardfish
Sweden's Beardfish make no secret of their appetite for all the progressive and hard rock of the seventies. The list of their influences is long, ranging from the lightness of Genesis and Camel to Deep Purple and Black Sabbath, via the technicality of Emerson, Lake & Palmer and the fantasy of Frank Zappa. Formed in 2001, Beardfish made a name for themselves abroad in 2007 with Sleeping in Traffic: Part One. Initially a worthy successor to The Flower Kings, Beardfish gradually hardened their tone, moving closer to the progressive metal of Pain of Salvation. Mammoth in 2011 and The Void in 2012 are the best examples of a successful mutation. Released in January 2015, Beardfish's eighth album is +4626 Comfortzone.
