The fifth studio album by the early Tom Waits-inspired combo led by glamorous actress cum smoky chanteuse Leonor Watling, Un Día Extraordinario finds Marlango once more re-creating their trademark late-night joint atmosphere -- albeit one that is more feel-good than desperate -- drawing from cabaret, jazz, blues, bolero, and ranchera. The only substantial difference is that for the first time the group decided to write the entire album in Spanish; yet this linguistic revolution turns out to have surprisingly little impact on the ultimate musical end product. The album was produced by Suso Saiz (Iván Ferreiro, Luz Casal, Christina Rosenvinge) and features the single "Dame la Razón."
